Wait, this isn't my dissertation :O

Tue Jan 8, 2008, 2:35 PM
  • Mood: Eager
  • Listening to: Everything with 5 stars on WMP
  • Reading: Various Collins + Wordsworth crit
  • Watching: Futurama and the X-Men films.
...but in my defence, it was on the same site as one of the essays I was looking at, so it was only a mild form of distraction.
Anyway, I saw this excerpt from a book, and thought it was so good that I would tell someone. Methinks I will read it.
AFTER I've finished my dissertation.
Perhaps.

"Heaven, such as it is, is right here on earth. Behold: my revelation: I stand at the door in the morning, and lo, there is a newspaper, in sight like unto an emerald. And holy, holy, holy is the coffee, which was, and is, and is to come. And hark, I hear the voice of an angel round about the radio saying, "Since my baby left me I found a new place to dwell." And lo, after this I beheld a great multitude, which no man could number, of shoes. And after these things I will hasten unto a taxicab and to a theater, where a ticket will be given unto me, and lo, it will be a matinee, and a film that doeth great wonders. And when it is finished, the heavens will open, and out will cometh a rain fragrant as myrrh, and yea, I have an umbrella."

I've poked around your gallery a lot now... at first I wasn't sure I liked your poetry... but on second and third readings I must say it's really grown on me. I hope to come back and give you one or two good critiques... I'm tempted to do it now - but I really shouldn't - spent enough time in this damned place today already. And in case you're interested, I gave your metapoetry journal some pseudo-promotion here: [link]

Well, thank you very much :)
I'm very grateful that you've taken the time to consider my poetry for any length of time. I know how hard that is on dA.
I'm sure I have been recommended your gallery by Claire, so as soon as exams are out of the way, I shall delve in and have a wee nose about :P

All the best :)

Wow :o
Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked them enough to say something.
I admit I have totally neglected photography this year. I would like to blame a busy year at university, but I am supposed to be considering a further education in photography when I graduate, so I'm not showing very much enthusiasm :S
I will try and get some more film in my camera as soon as possible, and hopefully start taking some more photos soon.
...Anyway, thanks very much for mentioning it. Always a real privilege to be appreciated :)

How are the essays going now? I have faith in your last minute abilities, especially since you can stay up all night, and therefore have twice as much time as the rest of us! I'm being utterly hopeless today, I've finished my essay I was actually interested in and am now on the most hopelessly boring topic ever. Which incidentally is so boring no one has ever written anything about it and consequently my critics are numbering at about 2...hopeless. Good luck with yours, I'm sure you'll finish them ok!
